Tony Soter came to wine through philosophy, an interesting path that perhaps sheds some light on his thoughtful winemaking. Tony’s credo; “I like to challenge wine mythology and conventional wisdom while paying homage to the classical standards. It’s my effort to better understand and execute the craft of traditional winegrowing.” A thinking person’s Pinot Noir. Robert Parker has said, “He is a Pinot Noir enthusiast and about 60% of his total production is a Morey-St.-Denis/Domaine Dujac-inspired wine.” That is a complimentary comparison by any critic’s standards, but especially from R. Parker.
